Stat facts

Well Non-con is over and we're 4-0.

Here's where some of our friends stand as they prepare for conference play in 2 weeks-

TR5-
Now has 8,716 passing yards and 77 passing TD's. He should easily get to 10K in yards but he needs to be really strong in the next 2 games to get to 100 TD's. The best thing that could happen for him is for KU to WTN and get that extra game.

KM -
now has 151 receptions for his career, he is 4 behind Mark Simmons for 1st place all time (Briscoe has 153 currently as well)
Kerry has caught 3 TD's on the young season which gives the QB turned WR 13 TD catches for his career and that has lifted him to a tie with Marcus "Mute" Henry at 7th all time. If he can get to 17 TD's this year he'll be tied for 2nd all time with Willie Vaughn and Bruce Adams.

Kerry also has a new career high for yards receiving in a game with his ballerific 141 yard effort against Southern Miss

Dez Briscoe-
As was mentioned he has 153 receptions during his time on Mt Oread, 3 receptions against Iowa State and he'll hold most receptions all time and most TD catches all time (23 and counting)

Briscoe is close to the all time receiving yards record as well, he currently has corralled 2,234 yards and needs 33 yards to be the all time leader and pass Willie Vaughn.

Hopefully Briscoe and KM continue to be studly and push each other for the all time receptions record, I'd prefer that Meier gets it and hopefully its after they have both accumulated over 100 catches a piece this year.

Jake Laptad-
has 4.5 sacks in 2009 and had the only sack against Southern Miss. Laptad stands at 14.5 sacks for his career and passed Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year Nick Reid for 9th all time. He is half a sack behind David McMillian and one sack behind Kyle Moore for 7th all time.

I'd really like to see Jake get maybe 8 more sacks which would put him in 2nd place all time and 1.5 sacks behind Algie Atkinson for the all time mark.

Bye week-
Let's hope Sharpie gets well, Mangino said in the post game that he would play against Iowa State, and that Reesing finds the magic that has eluded him this year.

The D needs to figure out how to get pressure against good competition and Steven Foster at DE on the 3rd down rush package is not working out. The best thing that could happen for this squad is that super freak Quinton Woods turns it on in practice and become that guy, because I like Laptad and Oneygbule in those sets and Wheeler is getting good pressure too.

This time 3 weeks from now we'll have a lot better idea of this team and its ceiling.
