KU got lucky yesterday and when I say that I mean that they didn't want to play Nebraska, no one really does, they are scrappy and annoying and while I think KU would have rolled on them, playing a scrappy team like that when you are trying to win 3 in 3 is tough.
So we got Baylor, they of the no defense variety, so giddy up.
Tip at 11:30 and since I am taking off St Patty's day and the first two days of the tourney I'll be watching this shit over lunch, on the blackberry and the radio, God Bless DVR.
to all of you lucky enough to watch the game, enjoy.

Madness has started?
So Butler lost last night which means some piece of shit school from the Big East or some other BCS conference just started to clinch their asshole a lot tighter.
Here's a list of teams that I DO NOT want to make the tourney-
K-sucks obvious reasons - and they won't so that's good
Kentucky - see above
Arizona - see above
Anyway, I loved seeing Cinci who was a bubble team lose to 0-18 in the conference Depaul, nice work lads.
G-Towm had a very small chance of making the dance and by that I mean not at all, and they lost to the Johnnie's, so there done.
There's a 10 percent chance I will watch the Big 12 tourney tonight.
UPDATE -
I watched ZERO seconds of the first round of the Big 12 tourney- instead I opted for the KU- Florida game from 07, good choice on my part.

Even other people think the Phog is baller
I found this below article written by some dolt from texass, at least he knows how we like to party
Daily Texan Online
There’s not much that makes Allen Fieldhouse any different when I look at it from the curb.
Bricks. Windows. A couple of trees outside. Even the stadium’s name looks typical in that standard bold-face type.
Then I walk inside.
Allen Fieldhouse already has a reputation as one of the best college basketball venues in the country, but I didn’t realize exactly what that meant until I made the 10-hour trek from Austin to see it in person.
It has a unique old-school feel, with the fans right behind the media rows in bleacher seats that look they belong in a high school gym rather than in a major stadium. The student section sits behind a railing that features wooden boards that function as something to hang banners on and a as louder-than-life drum. Imagine the basic “De-fense” chant amped up with extra wood-slapping bass.
The Fieldhouse is about the noise in every way. The music in between time-outs is so loud it’s barely recognizable at times.
The student chants make you wonder how they act in the library. Even in the floor-side media row, I could barely hear the referees’ whistles at times.
The intensity, the excitement, the soldier who descended down a rope from the ceiling, paratrooper-style, just to deliver the official game ball ? it all puts the Erwin Center to shame.
Watching a game in the Erwin Center is more relaxing. Fans frequently leave early to beat the traffic. In-game chants are modest in comparison and the crowd only seems to get into the game if Texas looks like they’re about be upset (The Texas loss to Kansas State seemed to rile up the crowd more than the win over UCLA).
The Erwin Center has a lot more to look at on the outside, but it lacks the passion of The Phog. After a Tyshawn Taylor dunk all but sealed the Kansas win, the 18th sellout crowd of the season (they’ve played 19 home games) added its own punctuation to the victory with a roar that forces the decibel meter on the jumbotron to peak at 104.8.
I felt the vibrations through my chair. The student section include several cardboard letters that came together to read “Big XII Champs.”
Then came the Rock Chalk. It’s the one chant no one quite understands, but it gave me the chills. Nothing is as creepy as 16,300 grown men and women getting together to sing “KU.”
It took a 700-mile road trip through the plains but I finally know how a building transforms from a basic sports arena to the spirit capital of college basketball:
A bunch of fans screaming at the top of their lungs.
Below is some blog from some guy that works with some girl that I know, this dude is a mizz fan, but even those losers recognize greatness.
Beware the Phog.
I went to the KU-MU game. Man that was a mistake.
How is MU supposed to win at the legendary Allen Fieldhouse, a place so steeped in “Rock Chalk” history, you need to walk through a museum and various national trophies to find your seat?
How is MU supposed to win when the scoreboard plays a rousing video that touts countless Big 12 championships, Final Four appearances, and national championships, including pictures of James Naismith inventing the game of basketball with a peach basket and Wilt Chamberlain posing in a KU uniform?
How is MU supposed to win when the crowd goes bat-shiat crazy every time KU scores and the sound level is off the freaking charts?
How is MU supposed to win after KU let a 14-point lead slip away in Columbia and now they arehungry for revenge with another Big 12 Championship on the line?
How is MU supposed to win when KU goes on a 16-point run in the first five minutes? How I ask you?
This was not fair. This was not fair. I’m writing a letter to the commissioner.

p.s. Check the comments on the youtube link- hillarious
this is Billy Miller's first recruit to Kansas, brings experience and fills a need for next year. Should be in the mix at LB with others.
Good get for the Hawks.

Football first-
I'm gonna move quick on this since we're in the heart of hoops season.
But Tanner Hawkinson moving to LT is a GREAT move. I'm looking for the OL to be real nice this year.
Moving Barfield to WR pretty much tells me that McGriff and Omigie will redshirt, which I figured.
KM at full time WR is $$$ for him and us.
Practice starts today.
The hoops squad cleaned up like 409 this weekend, 5 in a row.
Bill Self scored the coach of the year in the conference from both the AP and the Coaches.
Cole and Sherron made 1st team.
Cole Defensive Player of the Year
Tyshawnia and Marcus made the all Rookie team.
Congrats to all.

BACK TO BACK TO BACK TO BACK TO BACK
Left at 9:52 AM- after about ten minutes of looking at the team poster and screaming at it.
I'm so fucking ready.
I'm in Lawrence now with no agenda, so things could get interesting.
I've been listening to the B52's- this will be important later
**** 52 conference championships - good karma ****************
Arriving at the Fieldhouse was great. It was pretty electric in there and there's that charm of the AC being non-existent.
Something about walking in there going to your seat and sweating your ass off.The crowd was well aware of what was at stake especially before the game.Up until about 8 minutes left the crowd was kind of weak. I was having my own problems with the negative bitch to my left and the annoying / stoopit behind me.The chick behind me asked me what the bonus was and I just couldn't tell her.
I really do believe that the Tech loss was in the players heads and the fans for a good part of the afternoon but thankfully we were able to pull through.
I'm really proud of this squad for being tough and learning on the job. This team will go down as one of the easiest teams ever to be proud of.

Silver lining -(EDITED FOR CLARIFICATION)

I'd like to get one of those and not feel dirty about it
BLOGGER NOTE-
Last night I was in a bad place emotionally and mentally. I stopped watching the game at 2 different times and also lied to Blondie about when the 2nd half started so we could save ourselves from the pain.
I told someone I was not watching the game, which was partially true, and I acted in frustration to this person's brutal honesty, most of his honesty was directed toward Sherratron and it was hard for me to accept the reality that was the ass mauling.
So PIN friend, I'm sorry. Let's PIN on Saturday.
Todd Reesing : I'm sorry, its not you its me.
I have no idea how I'm finding a positive in the ass impaling that happened last night, but I think I'm on point here.
Cole twisting his ankle-
Why did it happen? - Because Marcus Morris didn't move his feet on defense and fell down like a turd.
Silver lining - Cole says he's okay and will play. I'd bet he sleeps in an ice bucket if he has to.
(this is the biggest reason why I'm not overly concerned with out seed in the big dance, likely a 3 now, I just want us to go to Minnesota, because it starts on a Friday (see extra day of rest and prep) and I like going to a hometown of one of our studs, being Cole.
Tyshawn falling down -
Why did it happen? - He was too fast for Tech and it was a freak incident that he hit his foot on that guys heel
Silver lining- Its a toe and not an ankle or knee or torn hamstring like the turds on TV were saying last night. Also he's gonna be ready for Saturday. (put him in the same group that needs an extra day off for the tourney and probably even Collins)
Sherron shooting like 3-19 and 1-10 and missing 3 free throws
Why did it happen - because he was pressing, he looked frustrated and tense at the line when missing charities and he was trying to do too much, or maybe it just wasn't his night.
Silver lining- He doesn't have 2 bad games in a row and I'd rather he get that shit game out of his system now than in the dance.
I might be reaching but him and Cole might have just earned themselves another year on the hill with last night.
(There is NO WAY we can discuss that yet, toooooooooo early)
Obviously the perimeter D better get a lot fucking better for Saturday, A LOT. Everybody did something that fucked us last night so everybody needs to step in up and do work on Saturday.

one for the thumb
High Five, more Backs than the chiropractics office, whatever.
We got a chance, now all we need to do is march our happĂ˝ little asses into that shithole lubbock as if we are the most pissed off, violent, blood hungry bunch ever.
Tomorrow honestly means a lot and nothing at all.
If we take care of business, they'll get jewelry and add to a banner.
But if all they do is just win tomorrow they'll have to share the title.
I personally hate sharing, it doesn't make sense to me.
I'd rather look at tomorrow as an opportunity to keep on keepin on. The chance to do something very special.
I'm not ready to talk about seedings and the pod system and all the other rif raff that is March, that time will come.
Winning the title has given me a real chance to enjoy the ride and the best way to enjoy this ride is if the captain, Bill Self, and the driver, Sherratron, put their foot on the gas and make that pedal hit the floor and don't let up.
After 4 hours of The Bachelor at my crib in the last 2 nights I really need to see a beat down.

gameday - Live from the Phog- until the BlackBerry busted
So far we're off to a money start.
Smooth drive up K-10 accompanied by songs about heroin and my cherry coke on ice.
First bank I drive by says the temp is 10 so I'm thinking that's cold and awesome since K-money is getting his jersey retired.
There's a 200% chance I'm going to cry at halftime, so I'm dealing with it.
Drove by The House at 9;30 and there's already mother fuckers lined up outside.
Hey this is one of those games
Grubbin at some place called McCallisters- which this sandwich could be sent from heaven but all its doing is buying me time before I get to the Phog.
I'm a tad upset with KU Athletics though. Apparently if you're a student you not only don't get a schedule for pick up dates, they "forget" to e-mail you the pick up dates for Mizzou and Texas, just so they can sell some extra tickets.
FYI- the more students the better, lew- dick.
And while I'm on this rant let's get back to student tickets- actual physical tickets- that way its easier for them to go and trade tickets and then they can try to rival my all world ticket stub frames.
Ok off to the PHOG.
Live and direct from Allen.
I'm not going to say where the jersey is gonna hang, but I think its ironic and awesome that it is where it is.
LOTTA students here so maybe I was wrong but whatever. Already booing anything that resembles a tiger, which is good.
Big ups to Kelting because the pregame music sounds a lot like the "From the lab" mix CD I got recently.
I haven't seen the kid that dresses like a tiger and smears brown all over his face, which sucks- you gotta pass that shit down.
Still no word if Leo Criswell errrrr Lyons had his mom dress him today.
7:42 left in the first half-
Its loud, I'm sweating a lot and I met Hinrich.
More on the man later.
Voice is shot already.
So I figure out that the 2 tools in front of me are Tigger fans, which is great because I can get within about 6 inches of this guys ear and yell. So I do. They leave with 3 minutes left in the first half and never come back.
Actual quote from this D-bag "40 minutes of hell, more like 40 minutes of terrible"
Today marked the second game in a row that I correctly predicted a Tyrel Reed 3, so that is fun.
The 3 at the end of the half by Tyshawn was HUGE. That was for all intents and purposes the end for mizz. Place got real loud at that point.
(A lot of people have asked me last night and today how loud it was / how was the atmosphere)
Here's my answer to one such e-mail ---
not as loud and crazy as 02 when we had thundersticks for the first time.
I didn't go last year, but I've been the 2 years before that and yesterday was louder
it was a good atmosphere, could have been louder, but had some real high points, the pregame was crazy and i had a boner for the Hinrich thing.
Also the noise level thing got to 105.8 which is way higher that any other game, and only Tenn, this year came close to it.
Hinrich at the half was great, they did not show his block from the Arizona game to clinch the Final Four so that was kind of a let down, but he was great, real nervous but very genuine, I for one am super happy for him even though according to LJ his sister is ugly and tried to fuck him.
Before the game I had the great pleasure of meeting Kirk, he was way cool. Told him congrats and that it was well deserved he told me thanks and that he appreciated the words, it was a very cool moment for me.
Props to KU for really making it very miserable for any Mizz fan in the building.
We did the following that were giant FU's to them
-played the TR5 to KM play
-showed Mario's shot and highlights from the OT in the Championship game
- played a video from Josie Wells
-Played the Simpson's clip
-Played a wild video about having the biggest home court advantage, right before tip
-Showed A LOT of Hinrich highlights against Mizz
- chanted Overrated!
The second half was less fun, Mizz started to make some shots and the crowd wasn't as into it, but the Overrated chant was great. The OOPS to Cole were great and he Rock Chalk was about as good as I have heard it in awhile, very cool.
All in all a great day and I'm glad I could be there.
Yes I cried at halftime.
