Apparently when J'ney Jackson isn't giving interviews to 1320AM he's signing kids up left and right.
Both are from Texas with Burton being a safety and Smiley an athletic TE.
Smiley had offers from Ok St, Wake Forrest and Florida State and was being recruited pretty hot and heavy by OU, so he obviously can play.
Rivals.com has reported that both have pledged to KU for the 2010 class.

Keep 'em rolling Hawks. I have a feeling that with the TV exposure and success we are lined up for this year with Todd and Co, we will continue to gain high quality recruits well into the fall. Just think, our schedule eases up considerably next year for the Zlatnik's and Trevor M's of the world to crack the lineup. Should be fun!
Very true story. The only thing that has me worried is that this class is going to be very small, like 17 small, so there will be some guys that we turn down or lose out on just based on numbers alone.
Get me a couple OL that can contribute after a RS year and a stud RB and I'll be happy.
