Recruiting tidbits

The KU recruiting team got a major upgrade a couple of months ago when Bill Miller replaced Steve Tovar as the Linebackers coach (Miller will also be the assistant D coordinator- which will help on the field a lot in my opinion) and when Billy Jo Clements or whatever his name is was replaced by former KC Chief Tom Sims as D Line coach.

Tovar didn't recruit anyone and Clements was a bum. Miller has contacts all throughout Kansas, Florida, Michigan and Ohio and Sims has some good local ties and there's no way he's a worse recruiter than Clements (who's at K-st now- awesome).

In addition to these guys being upgrades there's a couple of coaches that are absolutely murdering it.

David Beaty, WR Coach, did very well for himself last year and got off to a good start this year securing 2 of the 3 early commits for KU.
Every recruit that is being targeted by Beaty raves about him, how honest, easy to talk to and down to earth he is.

J'Ney Jackson is getting after it as well already securing the biggest commit this year in Dave Clark.
Jackson is also a guy that is connecting with recruits and working his ass off all over the place. I don't know much about him but he seems to be really passionate and excited about KU football and is communicating that to anyone who will listen.

Louie Mastakis, who recruits Florida, has stepped his game up too. Since the Orange Bowl KU has had a larger presence in the Sunshine State and last year they brought in Deshaun Sands and Erick McGriff while also drawing interest from others.
This year there are more offers to kids from Florida and more of them that seem to be truly interested, linebackers, linemen and skill players.
Florida is flush with talent and Mastakis stepping it up is big for the program, maybe Coach Miller can help down there too with his contacts.
