Things to improve on

Here are some things I hadn't noticed that I really hope Mangino fixes before September 5th and I'm sure he will.

Kickoffs-
KU averaged 17.54 yards per KO return.
Opponents 21.54 yards

That's almost 5 yards, and really needs to be fixed. Our offense is very good so they made up for some of this but to give other teams shorter field is gonna get you killed.

Penalties-
KU was penalized 62 times last year while their Opponents got flagged 75 times.
That's 1 less penalty a game for KU so that's decent but Opponents were pushed back a total of 589 yards and KU backed up 576 yards.

Mangino's teams have usually been fundamentally sound and don't make stupid decisions that will get them flagged but this stat is discouraging. Hopefully, with all the returners on both sides this will improve.

3rd Quarter-
KU was out scored 117 to 113 to start the second half.
This tells me that we aren't making the necessary adjustments at the half and we need to.

I honestly think an improved and more identified running game will help with this and a lot of other deficiencies.

Maybe none of this means anything maybe it means everything but now you know.
